New Jersey indie rockers The Break Lights, who recently landed on NPR’s radar with an impressively ear-catching Tiny Desk Concert submission, will release their self-recorded/self-produced new album, The Bright Life, on September 22nd. Today, the band reveals their latest single, “Step Into The Light,” which follows their Beatles-esque head-bobber, “Why Don’t You Call Me?,” shared in July.
“’Step Into The Light’ examines two people dealing with different circumstances,” explains vocalist and guitarist Mike Saiewitz. “A woman faces her separation from faith and a man struggles with the ending of a relationship. Although they are on different paths, both share a need of unfiltered truth to progress in their lives. The song celebrates the strange sense of bliss that comes from seeing things as they are even if it is a harsh reality.” An easy-going tune gilded with dreamy guitar licks and vocalist Jake Roggenkamp’s unique timbre, “Step Into The Light” is the cure for what ails you.
