The Districts – Popular Manipulations

Pennsylvania indie rockers The Districts are back with Popular Manipulations, out today via Fat Possum Records. With sonic intensity that calls to mind bands like Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs, The Districts have amassed a bevy of bangers cranked to eleven and beyond. While the band shows a softer side in some well-placed acoustic moments, they don’t make us stay outside the garage for too long. Can’t get enough of this one.


Kesha – Rainbow

Ok loyal readers, hear me out. I’m pretty snobby about my music choices, and I’d had about all of the auto-tuned party anthems I could handle. So, when a dear friend suggested I give Rainbow, out today on Kemosabe Records/RCA Records, a whirl, I reluctantly agreed, and proceeded to have my script flipped. The video for her single “Praying” gave me goosebumps for days–with all the effects stripped away, Kesha shows us her powerhouse voice and song crafting prowess. She’s been through a heck of a lot recently, and she’s come through intense pressure shining like a diamond. Give it a spin,
