Y’ALL. In case you haven’t heard of critically-acclaimed alternative artist Bishop Briggs–and if you haven’t, do you worry one bit, there’s no judgment allowed here…plus, it’s my job to educate the masses on today’s best tunes–she’s dropped some fantastic singles over the last year, which have found a collective home on her self-titled debut EP, out now via Teleport/Island Records. Fresh from her jaw-dropping performance at Coachella, the vocal powerhouse embraced on a 25-city North American headlining tour, with appearances at Firefly and Lollapalooza on her agenda this summer.
Recently, she released an epic music video for her heartfelt and highly personal track (and the favorite of yours truly), “The Way I Do”, which was directed by James Larese. There’s just something about “The Way I Do”–the unique combination of electronic elements, hard-hitting bass, hip-hop-inspired beats, and her arena-sized voice makes her style of gut-wrenching electro-blues resonate in the very depths of any soul.
