Need to do some last minute Christmas shopping? Look no further–popular annual compilation album Nashville Indie Spotlight 2017 is now available, y’all!
The series is entering its fifth year, and continues to bring a community of artists together to highlight the incredible talent that Music City has to offer. “The first album in 2012 was inspired by all of the great artists I was fortunate enough to work with and my desire to find a platform to tell more people,” remarks the album’s curator, Shawn Fowler of Tone Tree Music. “Though the musical landscape has changed over the past few years, the mission of this project has stayed the same: To share our diverse musical community with the rest of the world.”
The project provides an outlet for discovery; this year’s Nashville Indie Spotlight showcases 22 artists spanning Americana, Singer-Songwriter, Rock, Pop, Country, Electronic, and Ambient Instrumental genres, several of which have been featured on East of 8th and our sister site, Mother Church Pew:
