“HOURS” – NEW MUSIC by PIP BLOM

There’s something about 19 year old Netherlands lo-fi rocker Pip Blom‘s new single “Hours” that takes me right back to my combat boot-wearing, flannel-shirt-tied-around-the-waist-of-my-overalls, 1990s adolescent self. And, y’all, that’s an excellent thing.
As catchy and time-rewinding as the music is, what really stands out are her incredibly mature and introspective lyrics which perfectly encapsulate the fear of losing the ones we love to time. Blom has said that “Hours” is a song about loss: When time ticks away people grow old. And you know the moment you will lose them comes closer. You can’t do anything about it, but you know it will come.”

At only 19, Blom writes, records, and releases her own indie pop tunes with a twist, her DIY diamonds in the rough with catchy melodies have already found their way to an international audience. Give “Hours” a listen, no flannel required. Yet.
