Summer festival season may be in full swing, but that hasn’t stopped our inbox from filling up with standout new tracks. From moody indie-pop to Britpop revival and cinematic alt-rock, here are five fresh releases that we recently added to the East of 8th Spotify Playlist:
Olivia Dean – “Nice To Each Other”

Blending soul, pop, and a breezy hint of jazz, Olivia Dean continues to carve her lane with “Nice To Each Other,” a playful yet poignant track about finding joy in the moment while navigating modern love. The song pairs her signature vocal warmth with gently layered guitar and harmonies, offering a lighter emotional tone than some of her previous work.
“Nice To Each Other is a song about the push and pull of exploring your independence in dating” Dean shared. “It’s about enjoying someone in the present and allowing it to be both light and meaningful. I think this song and video represents a playfulness in me that I’m excited for people to see.”
Pleasure Pill – “Don’t Fly Away”

San Diego’s Pleasure Pill blends psychedelic textures with Britpop swagger on “Don’t Fly Away,” a jangly, melody-rich track that captures the yearning and restlessness of youth. Formed by brothers Jonah and Ethan Paz in 2021, the band channels the spirit of DIY punk scenes and ‘90s underground icons into something both nostalgic and fresh.
References to Oasis, both in sound and swagger cannot be avoided. “For my generation of people who have been starved of genuine musical and cultural moments. The folktale of hearing Nirvana for the first time or seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan can now be paralleled with the world hearing this song for the first time.” says frontman Jonah Paz.
Haley Ganis – “NNYC”

Nashville-based indie-pop artist Haley Ganis kicks off the rollout for her debut album with “NNYC,” a heartfelt single that reflects on her time in New York City and the emotional weight of a past breakup. Fans of Gracie Abrams and Holly Humberstone will appreciate her honest, bittersweet style.
“The day I wrote this I was really missing New York City, but was also reminded of a major break-up I went through while living there,” says Haley. She adds, “While writing, I loved sorting through my feelings and having New York as the backdrop of it all. My co-writer and producer, Dylan Maloney, helped finish the song with me and I hope listeners enjoy what we did.”
Charlotte Boin – “backseat lovers”

French alt-pop artist Charlotte Boin dives deep into desire and emotional unraveling on “backseat lovers,” a moody, guitar-laced single that feels like a late-night confession. Written, produced, and directed by Boin herself, the track and its accompanying visual mark a bold new chapter in her sound and storytelling.
“It’s about not being together to protect each other, but the pull is too strong. There’s passion, fear, longing — all at once,” she says. “This is the direction I’ve been working toward — it’s intense, it’s honest, and it sounds like me.”
Bex Lindsey – “Little Girl Big Feelings”

On “Little Girl Big Feelings,” Nashville-based artist Bex Lindsey offers a gentle moment of clarity — a stripped-down reflection rooted in self-acceptance and emotional truth. Delivered with warmth and restraint, the song speaks to her younger self and anyone who’s ever longed to be heard.
“Everyone you love, loves you” lands not as fantasy, but as a quietly radical belief — one that feels possible if you’re willing to let it in.
