VALORIES: “i can’t wait!” — NEW MUSIC

For anyone who’s ever struggled to get out of bed, powered through a fog of anxiety, or felt the weight of life stack up all at once, Valories’ new single “i can’t wait!” hits with piercing honesty. The Nashville-based alt-pop artist taps into the emotional paralysis of burnout and unmet expectations—but flips the narrative with a glimmer of hard-earned hope.

“Everyone’s hit a low point emotionally,” Valories shares. “Whatever that may be in relation to—mental health, a love interest, general exhaustion or dissatisfaction, difficulty balancing life… we’ve all had days where we woke up feeling a lot heavier than usual, making it nearly impossible to function like a regular human. ‘i can’t wait’ captures that state, and plays into the idea of being excited to ‘never feel like this again.’”

Since arriving on the scene in 2022, Valories has earned attention for her emotionally layered songwriting and distinct sonic palette, pulling songwriting influences from Sheryl Crow and Fleetwood Mac and musical comparisons to Caroline Polachek and PVRIS. One need only look at the dichotomy between her pop focused hit (almost 500k streams on Spotify), “Dead End,” and the rock-forward, “i can’t wait!,” to see that Valories is comfortable in any part of the alt-pop genre lane.

“i can’t wait!” is built on brooding alt-rock textures and wrapped in a haze of alt-pop production. (Those PVRIS influences definitely shine through on this one!) The track feels like the inside of a heavy moment—but one you fight through with the right determination. It’s a relatable spiral that sonically mirrors the arc from collapse to clarity.
