Paul McDonald’s four-night residency in support of a variety of local charities starts tonight, February 1 at 8:00 PM and continues each Wednesday in February!
What to know about the residency:
Singer/songwriter Paul McDonald has announced a month-long residency at The Under Dog. The residency will take place every Wednesday in February through February 22, with each week highlighting some of Nashville’s top musicians and singer-songwriters. The residency kicks off tonight, February 1, with a different hand-picked lineup each week, with proceeds benefiting local charities Oasis Center, Musicares, Musicians on Call, and David’s Den.
What to know about Paul McDonald:
Paul McDonald’s is known for his poetic, story-driven narratives and deeply catchy hooks that are delivered through his smokey yet refined voice. It’s a sound reminiscent of another era, but perfectly sates our fondness for the classic. Born in Auburn, Alabama, you can feel the whirlwind of influences that have shaped his music: southern rock bands like the Allman Brothers, roots, country, and gospel music intertwined with the late 60’s Laurel Canyon folk scene. Lyrically you can sense his inspiration in the authenticity and artistry of the works of his heroes like Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, and Jackson Browne.
How much is it and how do I get tickets:
The cost is only $10.00 but this event is a bit unique: it’s first come first serve at the door. No advance or online sales. Just show up early every Wednesday in February to secure your place in line!
Besides Paul McDonald, who else is playing at the residency?
Each writer’s round styled evening will feature a different set of curated artists. Tonight’s event features Lacy Blevins, Sonia Leigh, Mike Dunton, Andrew Leahey, and Lauren Morrow. This first show benefits The Oasis Center of Nashville.
