Nashville-based rock outfit The Prescriptions recently partnered with GemsOnVHS to film a live back porch performance video for their new single “Hollywood Gold.”
“‘Hollywood Gold’ happened very fast,” says The Prescriptions’ Hays Ragsdale. “The verses and chorus came together very quickly, probably took 15 minutes to finish writing. It was one of those rare moments as a band when all the elements of the song come together intuitively and have more or less stayed the same since the first time we played it.” “Working with Anthony and his team was a wonderful experience,” adds bandmate Parker McAnnally. “Having lived in Nashville for a few years, we had seen videos he’d done of our favorite local artists time and time again, and we knew he was someone we wanted to work with. We set up on a friend’s back porch on a hot summer day and Anthony captured the moment beautifully. He’s a consummate professional, and has a unique eye and perspective for filming performing musicians.”
The video captures the camaraderie in the band’s performance style; their sound, influenced by the likes of Neil Young and Wilco, brims with a soothing ease that provides a balm for the ears and a salve for the soul
