Denver-based indie band Tennis played The High Watt recently, touring to support their latest album, Ritual In Repeat. Their nostalgically groovy sound paired with lead vocalist Alaina Moore’s golden voice is the equation for pop perfection. After a gloriously satisfying set of new tunes and favorites from their established catalogue, Tennis left the stage. It just happened to be Moore’s birthday, and the audience began to sing “Happy Birthday,” bringing about a much-appreciated encore. Moore and husband/guitarist Patrick Riley ended the set with an tenderly acoustic rendition of “Bad Girls;” Moore introduced the song as her favorite, and a very personal one for her. Stellar performance, Tennis, as always.
