REVIEW: SERYN “SHADOW SHOWS” ALBUM RELEASE AT MERCY LOUNGE

Nashville-by-way-of-Denton, Texas-based folk rock outfit Seryn celebrated the release of their second studio album, Shadow Shows, at the Mercy Lounge in February, and it was an absolute celebration.  Seryn’s music is mesmerizing; with their flawless harmonies, superb musicianship, and energetically charismatic performance, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  The house was packed, the crowd was totally engaged, listening with rapt attention or earnestly singing along (and in Nashville, the crowd sounds pretty fantastic when they sing along, it’s like nowhere else, I promise); it’s undisputed that this band gives everything they have when they perform, and there were three (yes, three) encores.  The audience was begging for more, when finally Nathan Allen (guitar) came back out onto the Mercy Lounge stage and  said “we really don’t have anything else to play!”  It was amazing.  Unbelievably amazing.
