NEW YEAR’S EVE WITH THE APACHE RELAY? YES PLEASE!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEW YEAR’S EVE?

If you’re in the western hemisphere, or breathing, you need to attend the 6th Annual Bash On Broadway in Nashville.  This year’s lineup includes our very own Apache Relay, along with Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum…there will be fireworks as you watch the Music Note drop at midnight, and even though it’s outdoors, don’t worry! The weather forecast says 0% chance of rain, and you will have several thousand friends there to keep you warm.

If you read this blog (or know me at all) you know how excited I get about The Apache Relay.  Imagine my absolute  and sheer delight when I got the chance to catch up with lead vocalist Michael Ford, Jr. last week (for the second time this year!!) to talk about their upcoming NYE show.

 Since we last spoke in July, the band has been furiously traveling all over the country, appearing in festivals, playing shows, and enjoying the success of their latest album, The Apache Relay.  Even with the intense touring schedule, keyboardist and fiddle player Kellen Wenrich found time to get into a nasty tangle with a table saw, nearly losing two of his fingers.  Michael assured me that Kellen has made a complete recovery, and will be dazzling us with his many talents (and that beautiful hair…have mercy!) on New Year’s Eve.

The Apache Relay’s set will begin at 9:30pm, so you have plenty of time to grab some dinner before you head to Broadway for the festivities.  “But Susan,” you say, “what if I can’t make it on New Year’s Eve??” You aren’t totally out of luck…the band is heading out for a winter tour, and I bet they just might come to your neighborhood.  You definitely need to catch their show, because The Apache Relay is, in a word, AMAZING.
