Built around a furious opening guitar riff, “See U Again” leans fully into its straight-up indie-alt rock sound. The track serves as the first release from Charlie Abbott’s upcoming EP Bemused Indifference, currently slated for an early 2026 release.

Abbott recorded “See U Again” at home using a small collection of pawnshop finds that included a $40 amp, a $100 bass, and even a triangle tucked subtly into the mix. The song came together in just a couple of hours, with both vocals and drums captured in first takes. That approach seems to have fed the track’s urgency rather than holding it back.

The recordings were sent to Don Bates in Ohio for mixing before being finalized in Nashville by Alex McCollough at True East Mastering. The finished track keeps its edge intact while benefiting from this professional touch. Abbott has long favored keeping the process loose and working outside traditional studio environments, a thread that has been present throughout his earlier releases as well. The final product captures the immediacy of a song recorded in the moment, played with purpose, and produced so as to hone the urgency.

Abbott has earned music placements across television and film, including Shameless, Better Things, Scorpion, and The Spy Who Dumped Me, and has shared the stage with artists such as Grace Potter and Rayland Baxter. “See U Again” also found a wider local audience when Lightning 100.1 selected Abbott as Local Artist of the Week in December 2025, placing the track into regular rotation.

“See U Again” helps East of 8th’s playlist return to its roots with some local rock vibes. Its fast-paced guitar drive was exactly what we needed to shake off the post-holiday fog.
