While Lower Broadway has morphed into a neon-lit playground of bachelorette sashes and pop-country covers, one honky tonk has remained true to its roots—and on Monday, August 4th, it’s throwing a party worth showing up for.
Robert’s Western World Fan Fair is back, transforming Lower Broadway between 4th and 5th Avenues into a full-day celebration of traditional country music, pedal steel guitars, two-stepping, and everything that makes Nashville Nashville. The event is free, all-ages, and runs from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM CT, with two outdoor stages and a rotating cast of special guests.
Robert’s isn’t just another stop on the tourist bar crawl. Housed in the former Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company building, Robert’s opened its doors in the early 1990s and has spent the last three decades preserving the music that made Music City. It’s still family-owned, still proudly pedal-steel-forward, and—perhaps most importantly—it’s still where locals actually go.
This year’s lineup brings together Robert’s beloved house bands—JesseLee Jones & Brazilbilly, Kelley’s Heroes, Joshua Hedley, The Cowpokes, and more—alongside heavy-hitting guests like Marcus King, Elizabeth Cook, Radney Foster, Chuck Mead, The Travelin’ McCourys, Brennen Leigh, and others. And since this is Nashville, there’s always the chance for a few surprise appearances.

Additional highlights include Wanted for Steelin’, a Sho-Bud-curated tribute to the pedal steel guitar; a two-stepping dance lesson led by local instructor Laura Mae Socks; and a Western swing set from 13-piece band Eddie Slide and His Cowtown Dozen.
You can enjoy Robert’s signature Recession Special—a fried bologna sandwich, chips, a Moon Pie, and a cold PBR—for just $6. Limited edition rhinestone-studded t-shirts from Any Old Iron will be available for purchase, and Adam the Kid of Kustom Thrills will be on-site tattooing the iconic Robert’s “R” door stamp. (Last year, these offerings were set up outside between the stages, so keep an eye out.)

Whether you’ve been coming to Robert’s for years or you’re curious about the honky tonk that still does things the old-school way, Fan Fair is your chance to experience the original Broadway, for free, and all day long.
