Murfreesboroโs Match Records is making its Nashville showcase debut on March 23rd at The Basement, featuring four emerging artists from the student-run label. The event highlights a diverse lineup of musicians from Middle Tennessee State Universityโs (MTSU) Recording Industry Department, with all proceeds supporting Match Recordsโ mission to develop student artists.
The showcase kicks off at 4:30 PM, with each act bringing their own unique sound to the stage:
Kyelen Arora opens the evening with a blend of technical guitar mastery and blues-inspired songwriting. Drawing influence from artists like Rory Gallagher and Guthrie Govan, Aroraโs set promises high-energy riffs and intricate melodies.
Josie James follows, bringing her alternative/indie sound and signature vocal style to the stage. With roots in Atlantaโs music scene, James combines soulful vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and rich melodies that leave a lasting impact.
sav. adds a touch of alt-pop vibrancy to the lineup. A passionate performer who thrives on stage, she blends indie-pop and folk elements into a sound thatโs both fresh and engaging.
Cade Ortego & The Mood Swings close out the night with a groove-heavy mix of soul and funk. The Mississippi-based artist and his six-piece band channel the energy of Motown and โ70s R&B, ensuring a lively finale.
As a student-run label, Match Records provides hands-on industry experience for MTSU students, helping artists navigate marketing, branding, and promotion while also giving them real-world performance opportunities.
