It’s officially festival (anticipation) season at East of 8th!! Nothing gets the excitement going like the Bonnaroo 2025 lineup announcement. We’ve put together this mega article to cover all things Bonnaroo from the lineup, to the experience, what’s new for 2025, and info on how you can attend!
Soooo, we were going to start with all the normal introductory stuff, but…we just have to say…the Bonnaroo 2025 lineup is simply AMAZING!!! Now that we got that over with, back to our normal programing:
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival (June 12-15, 2025) is more than just another music festival. Terms like “magical” and “lifechanging” are often used to describe it. We can tell you that within minutes of arriving at our first Bonnaroo, at the venue affectionately known as The Farm, we knew those sayings were true. That is why the anticipation of the next lineup release starts the minute the music stops at the end of each year’s fest. Today we finally know the Bonnaroo 2025 lineup and it’s easily one of our favorites! With a lineup like this, we’re pretty sure a whole lot of you will be joining us as we return to Bonnaroo for our 12th year!
About The Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival:
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual event held in Manchester, Tennessee, on a 700-acre farm known as Great Stage Park (a/k/a The Farm). Established in 2002, the festival has become one of the largest and best known festivals in the United States. It typically spans four full days in June and features performances across multiple stages, covering genres from rock and hip-hop to electronic and jazz. Starting a few years ago, the schedule expanded to include entertainment on Wednesday of Bonnaroo week, giving early arrivals even more to enjoy.
The festival is notable for its large-scale attendance, drawing upwards of 80,000 visitors during peak years. It also puts a deep emphasis on community. When you are at Bonnaroo, you are at home.
Bonnaroo also prioritizes environmental responsibility, implementing programs like waste recycling, composting, and water conservation. Its name, derived from the Creole slang word for “good” or “a really good time,” reflects its mission to create a positive and inclusive gathering. Over its two-decade history, Bonnaroo has grown into one of the most influential music festivals in the world, consistently shaping the landscape of live entertainment.
Succinctly and sentimentally put, Bonnaroo isn’t just a music festival, it’s an experience and a movement.
The Bonnaroo 2025 Lineup Has Been Announced:
Bonnaroo first made a name for itself as featuring a jam-heavy lineup that was blended with many of the biggest names in pop and rock music. Over time, the festival has evolved into one of the most genre-diverse on the market. Rock, pop, EDM, hip hop, and a touch of country all come together to give us over 150 musical acts to chose from.
The good thing: the music rarely stops. Most nights, music continues until at least 3 AM. The downside to having a lineup as good as the Bonnaroo 2025 lineup? Multiple stages are running at the same time which can create scheduling conflicts. You don’t always get to see everything on your list. However, we’d rather have a stacked lineup like this one and be forced to make some hard choices!
Sometimes festivals have great headliners, but have to sacrifice the undercard budget. Sometimes it’s the opposite. This year, we think we got the best of both worlds in both top-tier headline talent and an amazing slate of rising artist. Seriously, we are obviously huge fans of this festival but our completely unbiased opinion is that they knocked this one out of the park!
The Bonnaroo 2025 Headliners:
This year’s headliners definitely put the multi-genre in multi-genre music festival. Since the Bonnaroo 2025 headliners cover a lot of ground, we did a more detailed preview this year for each artist.
Tyler The Creator:
Most people familiar with the festival had already expected the Tyler the Creator’s return to The Farm. He had been scheduled as a headliner in 2020 before it got cancelled due to COVID. However, that doesn’t minimize the importance of the booking.
Emerging as the leader and co-founder of the alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future in the late 2000s, Tyler quickly garnered attention for his raw, provocative lyrics and unconventional production style. His early works, including the mixtape Bastard (2009) and debut studio album Goblin (2011), introduced a dark, rebellious aesthetic that set him apart from mainstream hip-hop.
His third album, Wolf (2013), marked a shift towards more melodic and introspective compositions, showcasing his growth as a songwriter and producer. This transformation reached a critical peak with Flower Boy (2017), an album celebrated for its lush instrumentation and candid exploration of identity and relationships. It earned Tyler his first Grammy nomination, cementing his status as a creative force in contemporary music.
In 2019, Tyler released Igor, a genre-blending masterpiece that won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Featuring themes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, the project demonstrated his ability to seamlessly merge hip-hop with elements of funk, R&B, and pop.
Tyler’s sixth studio album, Call Me If You Get Lost (2021) earned the artist his second Grammy for Best Rap Album. With a blend of storytelling, sharp lyricism, and vibrant production, Tyler continues to push boundaries, redefining what it means to be a modern hip-hop artist.
Olivia Rodrigo:
Although she had success as an actress before her music career, Olivia Rodrigo burst onto the music scene with the release of her debut single, “drivers license,” in January 2021. The track, a raw and emotional exploration of heartbreak, became a cultural phenomenon, topping charts in multiple countries, including the U.S., where it held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks.
Her debut album, SOUR, followed in May 2021. Featuring hits like “good 4 u” and “deja vu,” the album was celebrated for its genre-blending sound that fused pop, rock, and indie influences. SOUR earned critical acclaim, receiving seven Grammy nominations and winning Best Pop Vocal Album in 2022.
In September 2023, Rodrigo released her sophomore album, GUTS, further showcasing her growth as an artist. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured standout tracks like “vampire” and “bad idea right?” which demonstrated her willingness to experiment with different musical styles and lyrical narratives.
Hozier:
If you think you know Hozier, but have never seen him live, you are in for a treat. We got to see him pre-headline a festival in 2023 and were blown away!
Hozier has become one of music’s most compelling voices. Known for his rich blend of blues, soul, and folk influences, the Irish singer-songwriter came on to the global scene with his 2013 breakout single, “Take Me to Church.” A powerful anthem of love and defiance, the track showcased Hozier’s lyrical depth and his ability to blend poignant themes with haunting melodies.
His self-titled debut album, released in 2014, solidified his reputation as an artist capable of crafting timeless tracks. Songs like “From Eden” and “Cherry Wine” captivated listeners with their intricate storytelling and emotional connection.
In 2019, Hozier released his sophomore album, Wasteland, Baby! which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. Tracks such as “Movement” and “Almost (Sweet Music)” demonstrated his evolving artistry, fusing lush arrangements with poetic introspection.
Luke Combs
Even though we had heard rumors that Luke Combs might be a headliner on the Bonnaroo 2025 lineup, it still comes as a bit of a surprise. While Bonnaroo has welcomed its share of country artists over the years, having a modern country star as a headliner is something new. However, when going through his songs and accomplishments, we can certainly see why he’s getting his shot on the festival’s main stage.
Combs saw his breakout come in 2015 with the release of his third EP, This One’s for You, which included early versions of tracks that would define his career. After signing with Columbia Nashville, he released his debut studio album, also titled This One’s for You, in 2017. The album produced five consecutive No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, including “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours,” and “One Number Away.”
Combs continued his success with his second album, What You See Is What You Get (2019), which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Hits like “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Even Though I’m Leaving” showcased his ability to deliver anthemic songs that that connect with his fans.
Known for his consistent chart performance, Combs has achieved numerous accolades, including multiple CMA and ACM awards. Most recently he saw his name added to the lights of Nashville’s Lower Broadway scene as he opened his own honky tonk.
The Bonnaroo 2025 Undercard:
Some argue that the Bonnaroo undercard is more important than the headliners. Afterall, it does make up the bulk of the lineup. It gives listeners a chance to check out a ton of bands they didn’t get to see touring and it’s an amazing opportunity for music discovery.
There are so many gems in the Bonnaroo 2025 undercard it is imposable to highlight everyone we want to see. East of 8th will be doing several artist previews leading up to Bonnaroo week as we dig deeper into the names.
Some things that immediately caught our attention by day:
Thursday is going to be busy. Whether drifting away into the melty world of Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country or clapping along to Marcus King’s guitar-heavy Americana-blues-country, there’s going to be plenty to get the festival blood flowing. Also, whether you will admit it or not, you’re going to go see Insane Clown Posse…I know we will.
Friday is absolutely insane and we are already bracing for the inevitable schedule conflicts. Everyone is hoping the festival gives Goose adequate time to jam. Foster the People is an act a lot of people want to see but have somehow missed before. And the Red Clay Strays are continuing their meteoric rise.
Saturday doesn’t give us any time to rest. Festival-favorites Modest Mouse have been putting on amazing shows as of late. Everyone is going to want to hear the classics from Nelly. And just look at that SuperJam theme!
Sunday is usually more laid back on The Farm, but this year seems to be an exception. Jack’s Mannequin is going to be a must-see for any Warped Tour vets, there will be plenty of crowd surfing at Queens of the Stone Age, and Remi Wolf is just going to be a party! And don’t overlook Natasha Bedingfield listed way too low on that day!
EDM On The Bonnaroo Lineup:
Like the music festival scene in general, Bonnaroo has greatly expanded its EDM offerings. The Other Stage has been specifically designed to enhance the sound quality and visuals of EDM shows. Where In The Woods has created a forested oasis for EDM lovers. Bonnaroo 2025 has loaded up on favorites.
Bonnaroo as basically booked an EDM festival inside of a festival this year. Tipper, Justice (finally), Dom Dolla, John Summit, RL Grime, LSZEE, and Levity would make up a heck of a festival. We’ll try to work a few EDM artists into our festival previews in the weeks to come!
Special Or New For 2025:
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is taking up residency on The Farm! In 2022 we argued that their one-hour set was waaaaay too short. For Bonnaroo 2025, we’re getting three sets spread out over three days. For the uninitiated, it’s time to start digging into the deep well of psychedelic rock.
The Infinity Stage is an entirely new concept in the United States. Billed as being completely immersive, the stage will have sound coming from all sides and above. Early rumors are that the shows for this stage will be carefully selected to highlight the special features.
Superjam! is a longstanding Bonnaroo tradition. However, each year it has a new theme. In the past, some of the jams have been a bit heavy featuring tributes to artists we lost. Sometimes they were also heavy but fun, like last year’s Emo Superjam. This one, sounds like it’s just going to be plain fun. Remi Wolf is a vibe all her own. Making it a 70’s pool party just sounds like classic summer fun!
Future Announcements:
The Bonnaroo 2025 lineup announcement is just the beginning of the news that we can expect to get from the festival between now and June. Other highlights that will be announced later:
- The Infinity Stage Lineup: As mentioned above, The Infinity Stage will be new on The Farm in 2025. This completely immersive music experience will have a special lineup announcement that is expected in late January. Early rumors about the lineup is that it is going to be a mix of artists already on the main lineup poster and a few special additions. Additionally, it is expected that it will not be running all day. Instead, it will be a selection of carefully curated shows to maximize the stage’s experience.
- The Where In The Woods and Outeroo Lineups: While it may seem like common sense, Outeroo is all the area not in Centeroo (the main festival stage area). It includes the campgrounds and Where in the Woods. As part of a massive infrastructure buildout a few years ago, Outeroo has become a festival outside of a festival. You could literally never go into Centeroo and still see hundreds of concerts. We call Where in the Woods an EDM playground. Nestled…as you might have guessed…in the woods, WITW features bumping bass and strobing lights most of the day and into the very early hours of the morning. The last few years has seen an increase in headliner level EDM talent taking over the Woods for late night sets. With The Infinity Stage entering the picture, there have been rumors that WITW will feature more rising artists. We will update you as we learn more.
- The Who Stage Lineup: A great place to listen to rising artists. Several huge names had their first Bonnaroo performance there. Starting in 2023, Bonnaroo put some money behind this stage adding to both sound and production quality. East of 8th has spent a lot of time at this stage over the years, popping in for some planned shows or just stopping by to meet a new artist.
- Superjam!: As mentioned above, this is one of those things that makes Bonnaroo so special. Sometimes we get a lineup announcement of special guest, but in recent years, the festival has been more about making it a surprise. We will update as we learn more.
- The Roo Run: Your exclusive chance to run in an official Bonnaroo sanctioned event in the summer heat! We will add information about signing up when it is released.
How To Attend Bonnaroo 2025:
Camping Or Day Parking:
Bonnaroo is first and foremost a camping music festival, but there are options if you want to stay offsite. To get the full experience we highly recommend staying on The Farm. With music usually starting around 1 PM and late night sets ending at 3 AM or later, it’s already a test of endurance. Add in the sunrise set, and it’s simply more convenient to camp.
Just like everything in life, there are different levels of camping depending on what you are willing to spend. The most basic is primitive camping or primitive car camping. Primitive car camping is the type of camping that most people think about when going to a music festival. Included with the primitive car camping pass is enough space to park your car, set up a tent, and have a reasonably sized sun shade. The current price for primitive car camping is $150.00 per car and each site can have up to four people. You can see all the camping options here.
There are also several upgraded camping options including the ability to park closer, have a power hookup, and a few luxury options that include the tent already set up when you arrive. The most expensive option is in Area 931 which is directly behind one of the two main stages. Prices for Area 931 range from $1,555.00 for primitive car camping to $4,400.00 for luxury tent accommodations. In addition to the “normal” camping options, the fest also offers RV passes and Groop Camps (friends or other large groups who camp together based on shared interests),
New for 2025 are the carpool camping passes for primitive camping and primitive car camping. The carpool passes are priced at $99.00 which is a savings of $51.00 over a standard camping pass. However, you must have 3 or more people arriving in the same car to qualify.
For those that want the comfort of a hotel, the options are a bit limited. Manchester is a small town hosting a large festival. Most of the hotel rooms right by the fest are either being used for the festival itself or have already been booked. The Bonnaroo website does have a link to help you find available hotel rooms in the area. However, the closest ones currently listed are in Murfreesboro Tennessee which is about 40 minutes away.
If you decide that you want to stay off-site in a hotel or are a local commuting from home, you will need a parking pass. Those are also for sale on the camping section of Bonnaroo’s website. Just scroll all the way to the bottom.
Wristband (Ticket) Information:
You will need a Centeroo wrist band to be part of the Bonnaroo fun. The wrist band is your “ticket” to the festival. Wristbands will go on sale on January 9, 2025 and will be available through the Bonnaroo Website here.
IMPORTANT: If you are planning to camp at Bonnaroo, you will need both a festival wristband and a camping/rv pass. If you are planning on parking at Bonnaroo and leaving each day, you will need the appropriate parking pass in addition to your festival wristband.
There are several different price points depending on the what you want to experience and how jealous you want to make your friends staying at home:
General Admission is currently priced at $420.00. According to the Bonnaroo website and social media, that price includes all fees but does not include applicable tax. In years past, there have been price “tiers” where the tickets got progressively more expensive as they sold or as we got closer to the festival date. This year, the website does not mention tier pricing, but we will update this post if we learn more.
The 4-Day General Admission Ticket gives you admittance to Bonnaroo for all four days of the festival and includes access to:
- 150+ performances on 10+ stages over four days – all night and all day
- Access to the entire campground (Note: Every vehicle requires a car camping or day parking pass)
- Food from 150+ vendors including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options
- Bars, craft vendors, official band and festival merchandise, free water stations, and more amenities throughout Centeroo and Outeroo
- Children 8 and under get in free with a ticketed adult
General Admission + or GA+ comes with the following:
