It’s been almost four months since the 2024 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival lineup was announced. It’s high time that we provided you with an update on everything that has been announced about this year’s festival since the Bonnaroo festival preview we posted in January.
Bonnaroo App Update And Initial 2024 Bonnaroo Daily Schedule Has Been Released
While the annual lineup announcement is one of the best days of the year, the schedule release day is one of the most painful. It’s just tough learning that we’ll have to choose between seeing T-Pain or The Mars Volta. However, we can also start planning how we are going to spend those four magical days on The Farm.
The updated festival app helps with that planning. It has the schedule listed in various formats and you can search for your favorite artist. It also allows you to add artists to your custom schedule. A pro tip is to make sure to also print out a copy of your schedule in case the internet gets spotty because of the crowd. However, in 2023 Verizon placed a mobile 5G tower right between the two main stages and we only completely lost cell coverage when something truly viral happened and everyone rushed to the socials to post about it. The schedule is also available on Bonnaroo’s website. However, because there are so many bands and stages, it gets a little difficult to use. That’s why we recommend the app.
We called this is the “initial” schedule announcement because bands playing the Who Stage or Outeroo (more on those below) are not included on the app yet.
The advantage of having the app while at the festival is getting any updates. For example, if there is a weather delay, the festival does its best to adjust the schedule instead of outright cancelling sets. Without the app last year, we never would have been at the right place at the right time after that storm dumped on us Thursday afternoon. The app also sometimes drops info about surprise sets.
After Hours (Late Night) Acts Announced
Bonnaroo has also announced which bands get to fill the legendary “late night” sets. It’s a time-honored tradition to never miss late night sets on The Farm. The temperature is cooler and the music just hits different. From the folks who role out with their whole crew dressed in costumes, to the people laying back on a blanket exhausted from the day, the late night community is a vibe.
For us, that GWAR set is going to be a wild send off for Thursday night–before going to party at Where In The Woods of course. That T-Pain/The Mars Volta conflict is brutal but you can’t go wrong either way. Likewise, Saturday into Sunday morning is going to bring us the difficult choice of IDLES vs. Parcels. However, there’s no debate about whether we will be up past dawn Sunday morning watching Pretty Lights on the Other Stage.
The good news is that it looks like we might be able to wedge in 10 hours of sleep this year which is a marked improvement over our Red Bull fueled days and nights of 2023.

The 2024 Outeroo Lineup Has Been Announced
For the uninitiated, Outeroo is the group of Plazas and stages located…well…outside of Centeroo. It encompasses the camping areas and some of the surrounding woods.
Where In The Woods a/k/a WITW is like its own EDM festival within a festival. For the last couple years it has also served as our late, late night party. The takeovers are particularly intriguing as they feature big names like Fisher and Chase & Status. However, most interesting is the Sunday “surprise” headliner.

House Of Yes features inclusiveness and mindfulness. The Pride Parade starts at the House of Yes and, as advertised usually features some of the fest’s artists as Grand Marshall and participants.

The Galactic Giddy Up brings a little country twang to The Farm, the House of MatROOmony gives attendees the chance to be married at Bonnaroo in a special setting. It also features guest officiants including some of the artist playing the festival. Unfortunately, applications to get married at the House of MatROOmony are closed for 2024, but it is still a fun thing to stop in and check it out.
Who Stage Lineup Announced
The Who Stage has always been one of our favorite places to hang out at the festival. While there are names that you will instantly recognize on the lineup, the stage is all about music discovery. Plenty of artists we have watched on the Who Stage have later graduated to larger Bonnaroo Tents and Stages, and have found regular spots on our personal playlists. We are just starting to dig into this year’s Who Stage Lineup and we can tell you that there are some real gems. So far we are spending a lot of time listening to HAPPY LANDING, Paul McDonald, Lily Fitts, and Amira Elfeky. However, we’re sure that list will continue to grow as we continue our musical exploration!

The Deadline To Register For The 2024 Roo Run Is May 24th
For those of you who like to punish challenge yourselves, the 5K Roo Run returns on Saturday June 15. If paying $25.00 to run in the summer heat in middle Tennessee calls to you, the deadline to apply is May 24th and the application is at this link.
What Additional Information Is Yet To Come About The 2024 Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival?
While the 2024 edition of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is less than 40 days from today, there are still a bunch of things we can anticipate. The app and schedule will be updated to include the What Stage and Outeroo bands. There will also be the highly anticipated update about this year’s Emo themed SuperJam which is being led by Dashboard Confessional. (We can’t wait for that one!) There will also likely be some additional artists announced who will be playing at smaller stages hosted by non-profits or festival sponsors. East of 8th will make sure to share updates as they come out here and on social media!
