February 11 will see the release of Inner Shibori, the latest album from Nashville singer/songwriter Jesse Correll. Later that same day, Correll is taking the celebration of the record’s release to the lounge at City Winery in Nashville, TN.

Correll channels rich lyricism through classically pure vocals. He often features minimalist instrumentation which allows the listener to focus on Correll’s smooth voice. About His New Album Inner Shibori

The album is about a breakup, but in the way we usually thing of it. It’s about breaking up with yourself. The Shibori dyeing technique spoke to Jesse – when cloth is folded, tied, or compressed before dyeing and then unbound, it leaves a beautiful design behind–much like life’s trials and pressures can transform us into something even more beautiful than before.

On January 7 of this year, Correll released, “One More Time,” the lead single for Inner Shibori. Regarding the track, Correll shares that it is about exploring where love ends and love addiction begins in the wake of a break-up. “I had heard of sex addiction—but love addiction was a new concept,” he muses. “Was ours a healthy love that went bad? Was it just dysfunctional patterns cycling or projection? I had never felt that visceral pain that I’d always heard about.”
