One of our favorite local organizations, Musicians Corner, a program of The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park, will present Band Together: Classic Songs From Music City at the beautiful City Winery Nashville on Saturday, March 18th. The concert will feature songs by legendary artists like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Jimi Hendrix, Gillian Welch, and more, who have made a lasting and indelible impression on the Music City.
Last February, Musicians Corner put on Band Together: 1989 (a celebration of the year in music and the Taylor Swift album), which was endorsed by Taylor Swift herself and reviewed by Billboard. Musicians Corner has also hosted tributes to Paul Simon, The Last Waltz, and Tom Petty. Participating artists include Drew Holcomb, Lennon and Maisy, Sam Palladio, The Secret Sisters, Nicole Atkins, Grant Lee Phillips, Sierra Hull, Leigh Nash, Sarah Potenza, Griffin House, The Shadowboxers, Kris Allen, John and Jacob, Jenny + Tyler, Ruby Amanfu, and Angaleena Presley.
This edition of Band Together will feature performances from Sam Palladio, Paul McDonald, The Sisterhood, Emily West, KS Rhoads, Olivia Lane, members of Humming House, Dawn Landes, Michael John Hayes, and The Farmer and Adele. Tickets are $20, $25 and $35, and can be purchased here. The proceeds from the benefit support Musicians Corner’s free music events in Centennial Park, which supports emerging artists, and provides inclusive arts enrichment and educational programming for adults and youth. Over 1,000 artists have been showcased since its inception in 2010. The weekly summer event brings together all the best things about Nashville–music, art, food trucks, and friendly citizens.
