Nashville-Mississippi musical artist Clayton Waller, also known as Rock Eupora, started taking piano lessons at the age of 5; quickly discovering his love for songwriting and performing, he took advantage of nearly every opportunity to play music. In college, he helped form a rock-n-roll power trio, then began writing solo; these songs eventually became Rock Eupora and took form as his first album, Blanks.
While attending graduate school in Nashville, Waller wrote and recorded Rock Eupora’s second full-length album in his apartment-converted basement. In Soon the Sun Will Come, Waller uses galactic hooks and melodies and a unique blend of gritty rock and shimmering pop to address the power of time, the reality of love, and the importance of faith as he experiences a transitional stage of life.
Rock Eupora’s single “I Wanna Be Alone” is a garage and alt-rock combo with a distinct 90s sound. This angsty anthem takes a look at personal insecurity, social exhaustion, and the resulting apathy thereof, giving us a full serving of his grittier rock edge. The song further solidifies Waller’s unique versatility and foreshadows the exciting year that lies ahead.
Without further ado, East of 8th is proud to present, “I Wanna Be Alone” by Rock Eupora!
