While other kids his age were watching cartoons and playing video games, Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Evan Jeffrey was obsessing over Jimi Hendrix; “I remember when I was seven or eight, sitting down next to the CD player in my room and replaying Hendrix’s version of ‘Star Spangled Banner’ over and over. Not much has changed – I’ve spent the last thirteen years either playing music or thinking about playing music,” he says.
The first single, “Brick By Brick”, is from his debut 5-song EP, Stay Running, available at your favorite music outlet on Friday, December 11th. Of the infectiously catchy single, Jeffrey says, “For me, it’s about coming to terms with the breaking down of a relationship, romantic or otherwise, while trying to keep it all in perspective. There’s definitely a little angst in there, but I think it ends on a positive, almost celebratory note and hopefully that’s what ultimately resonates with people.”
