Our beloved hometown EDM festival, Deep Tropics, is expanding its footprint! Beyond the festival’s move to Labor Day weekend in 2026 (now three days long), Deep Tropics Equinox brings a new spring gathering set for March 20–21, 2026, at the Bicentennial Park Amphitheater in Nashville. While Equinox carries the same creative and environmental foundation as the flagship festival, its structure is different. It will feature a one-stage, two-day experience designed to feel more focused on the music and relaxed on the vibes.
Rather than positioning Equinox as a scaled-down festival, organizers have been intentional about calling it a gathering. That distinction shows up as fewer schedule conflicts, less movement between stages, and more time spent settling into full sets. Set in the spring and focused on the park’s amphitheater, Equinox promises a different way to engage with the Deep Tropics community.
Deep Tropics Equinox: The Lineup
Friday Headliners: Of The Trees and Jade Cicada
Friday’s lineup is led by Of The Trees, bringing an atmospheric, bass-forward approach that aligns well with the kind of immersive sets Deep Tropics tends to spotlight. His sets tend to unfold patiently, layering texture and low-end weight in a way that rewards attention and presence, making him a natural fit for a Deep Tropics event focused on a weekend of intentional pacing.
Also headlining Friday is Jade Cicada, who brings a more experimental edge to the weekend. Known for intricate sound design and organic rhythmic movement, his performances invite close listening as much as physical response, reinforcing Equinox’s emphasis on immersion over spectacle.
Saturday Headliners: Claude VonStroke and It’s Murph
Saturday shifts the tone while maintaining cohesion, led by It’s Murph, whose melodic approach bridges emotional songwriting instincts with dancefloor-ready production. His sets offer contrast, switching between momentum and restraint. His weekend-closing set promises to be full of energy and will be the perfect way to send folks on their way to afters!
Claude VonStroke will bring decades of house music influences to the Equinox stage. His ability to balance groove, personality, and extended flow fits naturally into a weekend embracing the more laid-back, set-focused vibes of Equinox.
The Undercard/Support:
Beyond the daily headliners, Equinox’s supporting lineup reflects the same careful curation. Ivy Lab appears in a dedicated drum and bass set, introducing sharper tempos and a different rhythmic energy into the weekend. Barclay Crenshaw brings a deeper, bass-heavy approach that complements the gathering’s immersive focus, while Tinjo + Jojo and RaeCola contribute groove-forward selections that help the day unfold smoothly rather than in rigid peaks.
Late-Night Programming and Official Afterparties
Nashville has some pretty strict sound curfews that often lead to an early end of our in-town music festivals. Fortunately Deep Tropics comes prepared!
The experience continues after dark with two official late-night events. Friday night features G Jones b2b Eprom, a pairing known for dense sound design and high-impact performances that push into darker, more experimental territory.
Saturday’s late-night programming also extends the daytime soundscape with Green Velvet, who will deliver a four-hour set built around extended house grooves and long-form pacing.
Equinox will operate within the same zero-waste, climate-positive framework that defines Deep Tropics. The festival reported an 88 percent waste-diversion rate at its 2025 edition, preventing nearly 12,000 pounds of material from entering landfills. That infrastructure carries directly into the spring gathering, reinforcing sustainability as a built-in element rather than a side initiative.
Deep Tropics Equinox offers several ticket options aligned with its two-day format. Two-day general admission passes are available for the full weekend, along with single-day tickets for Friday or Saturday. A 2026 “season pass” is also offered, bundling weekend general admission access to both Deep Tropics Equinox and the main Deep Tropics festival later in the year. (Note that this is for festival and Equinox access only and does not include afters.)
Late-night programming is ticketed separately, with official afterparty passes available, along with optional cabana experiences. On-site upgrades include pit access, exclusive cabanas, and the Eco-Band, which supports the festival’s ongoing sustainability efforts.
Tickets are already on sale via the Equinox gathering’s ticket website.
As a spring counterpart to Deep Tropics’ flagship event, Equinox is sure to feel a bit different from the huge festival party we are looking forward to this Labor Day weekend. More focused. More intentional. But always the same community. We will share updates as additional details are released!
