Breakaway Music Festival Nashville is a series of EDM events spanning across the United States. Breakaway first came to Nashville in 2018 and returns this year, October 11 and 12, with a stellar electronic music lineup.
About the Breakaway Nashville 2024 Lineup:
With the festival quickly approaching, a ton of information has already been released about Breakaway Music Festival Nashville. First and foremost, the thing that grabbed our attention was all the star power that’s loaded into two days of music!
We’ll go ahead and show our age a bit by saying that Tiesto served as one of the gateway artists that got us into electronic music more than a decade ago. The Dutch DJ, producer, and global electronic dance music artist is an absolute icon in the EDM scene. Although already building a solid career in the 90’s, he gained international fame in the early 2000s with his groundbreaking mix of trance and house music, releasing chart-topping hits like “Adagio for Strings” and “Traffic.” Known for his dynamic performances and energetic beats, Tiësto has headlined most major music festivals.
In 2004, he became the first DJ to perform at the Olympic Games in Athens, cementing his status as a pioneer in the EDM world. Over time, Tiësto’s sound evolved from trance to more mainstream electronic styles, incorporating pop and future house influences, evident in hits like “Red Lights” and “The Business.”
With numerous awards, including a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, Tiësto’s enduring influence continues to shape the EDM landscape.
Marshmello, the enigmatic EDM artist known for his signature helmet and upbeat sound, has taken the global music scene by storm. Emerging in 2015, Marshmello quickly gained attention with his remix of Jack Ü’s “Where Are Ü Now” and later soared to fame with hit singles like “Alone” and “Silence,” featuring Khalid. His ability to blend melodic, feel-good beats with powerful vocals has made him a favorite in the electronic and pop worlds alike.
Known for his distinct marshmallow-shaped helmet that conceals his identity, Marshmello has collaborated with numerous mainstream artists such as Bastille, Selena Gomez, and Halsey, expanding his reach beyond EDM. His genre-blending style and energetic performances have made him a staple at major festivals like around the globe. With millions of fans worldwide, Marshmello continues to shape the EDM scene, bringing positivity and catchy beats to the forefront of modern music.
Australian DJ and producer Alison Wonderland has made a significant impact on the global electronic music scene. Known for her emotive fusion of trap, future bass, and pop, Wonderland’s music resonates with fans thanks to its raw energy. Starting her career with several remixes and singles, she quickly established herself as a rising artist in the scene. She continued the growth of her fandom her 2015 debut album Run, which showcased her dynamic production skills and personal storytelling. Her follow-up album, Awake (2018), further solidified her status in EDM, featuring hits like “Church” and “Easy.”
Alison Wonderland’s live performances are renowned for their intensity, often blending high-energy beats with moments of vulnerability. Her ability to connect with fans through both music and personal experiences—such as mental health struggles—has earned her a loyal following. Beyond the decks, she’s also a classically trained cellist, adding another layer to her musicality. Alison Wonderland continues to push boundaries in the EDM world with her innovative sound and authentic artistry. East of 8th got to see her play a set this summer and it was one of our favorite shows of 2024!
Louis the Child is a Chicago-based electronic music duo formed by Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett. Known for their signature blend of future bass, indie pop, and upbeat electronica, they rose to prominence with hits like “It’s Strange” and “Better Not.” Their sound is normally characterized by catchy melodies, vibrant beats, and uplifting vibes. It is important to note that at Breakaway Music Festival Nashville, the duo will be doing a “playground set” meaning that the duo will be freestyle spinning as DJ’s and selecting what they want to play on the fly. That means that we probably won’t hear the music we usually associate with the group, but it should make for a unique and fun experience.
In addition to the headlining acts, we recently saw Ray Volpe do a set this summer and it was impossible to stand still thanks to the infectious beats he was creating. We have been hearing a ton of good things about the experimental bass trio, Levity and look forward to finally seeing them in person.
The 2024 Breakaway Nashville Silent Disco Lineup:
By now. we are most of you know what a silent disco is. You grab a pair of headphones and dance to the music being played by this talented group of DJs. The silent part is for those watching. Since the music is playing through the headphones, mere observers can’t hear what is going on. However, based on cheers and dancer reaction, it’s usually pretty clear when a big drop hits or favorite song is being spun. Silent discos are a ton of fun for those that participate, and may be even more fun for those of us who like to just watch the silent revelry.

With it being close to the start of the festival, we already know the daily schedules. While there are some painful conflicts during both days, the festival has set the headliners apart with non-conflicting times.
Official After Parties:
What is an EDM festival without the afters? Breakaway has you covered both nights with separate ticketed events. First up at the more intimate venue, The Cowan, Friday night will bring us Ray Volpe. As noted before, we recently saw Ray Volpe and know that he’s going to have the party going strong. Although Austin Millz and Bunt. are newer to us, we’ve been listening to enough of their tracks to anticipate an amazing after party. This show will be downtown on Nashville’s famous Lower Broadway at the Nashville Skydeck. We included the links for ticket information that you can access by clicking on the photos below.
Attending Breakaway Nashville 2024:
Breakaway Music Festival Nashville is taking place Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 at the Nashville Fairgrounds located at 300 Rains Ave. Tickets are already on sale and are available as General Admission, VIP, and Ultra VIP.
