Shaky Knees Music Festival Returns to Atlanta’s Piedmont Park September 18–20, 2026

Shaky Knees Music Festival returns to Piedmont Park in Atlanta on September 18–20, 2026. The three-day event continues as one of the Southeast’s most consisten city-centered festival experiences.

The 2026 lineup once again leans heavily into rock and alternative. It’s a remarkable pairing of legacy headliners alongside contemporary standouts. All tied together by a notably deep undercard.

This year will mark our fifth trip to Shaky Knees. From production quality to lineup curation, the festival has maintained a clear identity while continuing to evolve. In fact, in 2025, one of our two most memorable sets of the year was My Chemical Romance’s headlining performance.

The 2026 Shaky Knees Music Festival Lineup:

That rock-forward theme will become clear as we dig into the 2026 lineup:

Friday – September 18

Friday is led by The Strokes, whose influence on modern indie rock remains significant. Their recent festival appearances have focused primarily on core catalog favorites, making their headlining slot likely to center on the songs that defined the band’s early run.

Turnstile delivers a kinetic mix of hardcore aggression and melodic hooks, while Fontaines D.C. operates in a brooding post-punk lane built on repetition and tension. Danny Elfman brings cinematic scale to the evening, drawing from his work across film and experimental rock.

Geese add angular art-rock textures, Hot Mulligan leans into modern pop-punk catharsis, Ben Howard provides quieter folk-inflected moments, and Alice Phoebe Lou offers stripped-down songwriting that balances the day’s heavier edges.

Saturday – September 19

Saturday shifts stylistically but keeps the intensity high. Twenty One Pilots headline with a catalog built around rhythmic shifts, genre blending, and arena-scale production. Their live sets move quickly between rap-inflected verses, electronic textures, and explosive choruses, giving the day a different kind of pacing than Friday.

Pierce the Veil brings post-hardcore precision and soaring vocal lines, while The Prodigy delivers electronic aggression built on breakbeats and distortion. Pavement offers a sharp contrast, leaning into their loose, slanted take on indie rock that defined much of the 1990s alternative landscape. Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday anchor the melodic side of the day, drawing from catalogs that still resonate with festival crowds. Blood Orange adds layered, groove-driven arrangements, and Wolf Alice balances guitar weight with atmospheric build.

Sunday – September 20

Sunday closes with Gorillaz, whose hybrid of hip-hop, electronic production, and alternative songwriting has remained adaptable for more than two decades. Their live performances often expand on studio arrangements, layering visuals and guest features into a set that moves fluidly between eras of the project.

LCD Soundsystem follows with rhythm-forward dance-rock built on repetition and gradual escalation, while Wu-Tang Clan brings a catalog that helped define East Coast hip-hop in the 1990s. Knocked Loose injects metallic hardcore intensity into the afternoon, and Modest Mouse continues to lean into angular guitar lines and Isaac Brock’s distinct vocal phrasing. Japanese Breakfast offers textured indie-pop arrangements, and Santigold blends new wave, electronic, and global influences into a performance style that shifts easily between restraint and release.

Going To Shaky Knees 2026:

While Shaky Knees is not a camping festival, its Midtown Atlanta location remains one of its advantages. Piedmont Park sits within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and late-night options, making the surrounding city part of the experience. For many attendees, that urban accessibility offers a different kind of destination appeal built around comfort and flexibility rather than campground logistics.

Tickets for Shaky Knees 2026 are already on sale. Three-day, two-day, and single-day options are available, along with hospitality packages and group offerings.

Three-day General Admission tickets start at $319 and include access to all stages, local and regional food vendors, bars and concessions, official merchandise, and free water stations throughout Piedmont Park. Children 8 and under are admitted free to GA areas with a ticketed adult.

GA+ and VIP tiers add lounge access, upgraded air-conditioned restrooms, dedicated viewing areas, and private bars, with VIP providing on-field viewing access across the main stages.

Platinum expands the experience further with front-of-stage viewing, lounge dining, complimentary beverages, and exclusive viewing opportunities, while the $7,999 Ultimate package includes on-stage viewing subject to artist approval, golf cart transportation between stages, access to the Artist Bar, and a late-night show ticket. As a small publication, we would of course gladly accept one of those Ultimate experiences as a gift should anyone feel generous.
