Music was household currency for Nardia: her father’s blues-guitar work made her gravitate to artists who told stories as much as they sang them. The influence of that early exposure to the blues shows up in her résumé including opening VIP lounges for Beyoncé and Adele’s Australian stadium runs, headlining an Etta James/B.B. King tribute with guitarist Jimi Hocking (The Screaming Jets), and finishing in the Top 5 at the 2025 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
These milestones feed directly into her recent single, “Is It You,” and an upcoming full-length album that promises to keep blues, soul, and storytelling as its cornerstone.
Nardia’s Latest Single “Is It You”
The Melbourne vocalist–songwriter returns with “Is It You,” a polished slice of modern soul that pairs her smooth vocals with rich guitar and and a subtle R&B sway. The track considers that electric moment when attraction strikes but the full picture of the other person is still blurred.
“Is it You captures that moment of intrigue when you meet someone and feel an undeniable pull toward them… The song explores the tension between attraction and curiosity, the desire to uncover someone’s true essence, and the mystery that makes love both exciting and uncertain, leaving you feeling uncomfortably excited,” Nardia explains about the song.
The “Is It You” Music Video
For the companion video, director Matthew Kelley built a cinematic narrative in just 24 hours: a retro diner where reality flickers into fantasy under neon light. A rehearsal run-through and a detailed animatic meant every camera move followed the song’s ebb and flow. The result is a short film that mirrors the lyric’s question of whether the spark is genuine or imagined.
Upcoming Full Length Album: Own Every Scar
Expect Nardia’s upcoming Own Every Scar LP to explore vulnerability and resilience in equal measure. “I’m working on a contemporary R&B album, but rest assured, my music will always be rooted in the jazz and blues that shaped my sound,” Nardia notes, “Those soulful foundations are at the core of everything I do, and I’m thrilled to continue blending those influences with fresh, modern elements.“
“Is It You” is a concise proof-of-concept: Nardia’s voice rings clear, the writing balances immediacy with depth, and the production leaves enough headroom for both. If the single is any indication, Own Every Scar will offer the same blend of story, soul, and expert musicianship that has defined her career so far—only on a larger canvas.
